Verneta Minni Hilliard, 90, went home to be with the Lord January 24, 2007.
Verneta was born September 9, 1916 in Tama, Iowa to Eli Samuel and Alice May (Ray) McCaulley. She lived most of her adult life in the Des Moines area. Verneta was a beautiful lady and mother, as well as an ordained minister, to which she served the Lord with her husband, Arthur.
To their union, they were blessed with eight children; their sons, Charles (Sandra) Hilliard and Buck (Sandi) Hilliard, of Des Moines; three daughters, LaDonna Heathcote of Des Moines, Mary (Donald) Woolsoncroft of Mitchellville, Pastor Ethel (Scott) Wright of Des Moines; 28 grandchildren, 34 great- grandchildren and 15 great- great-grandchildren.
Verneta was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur and her three sons, Gary Hilliard, Arthur Dale Hilliard and Richard Hilliard.
