Ambrose Cooper, 74, died at his residence, 435 East Main Street at 9:30 p.m. Friday following a two year illness of complications. He was formerly a farmer and retired city lineman.
Mr. Cooper was born in Wabash county on October 13, 1868, a son of Daniel and Merria (Maria Handcock) Cooper. He was married on March w8, 1894 to Emma Williams who survives. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church of Wabash County. He lived in Peru for the past 27 years.
Surviving beside the widow are two brothers, Frank of Elkhart and Wilbur of South Bend; and one sister, Mrs. Levi Hartman of Canada.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the Hammond-Eikenberry funeral home with Rev. Paul Chalfant officiating and interment will be made in Mount Hope Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
