Lamar Otis Grubbs, 73, of Leesburg, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2022, in the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023, in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Lee Wright officiating.

Lamar was born on June 20, 1949, in Cuthbert, GA the son of the late Otis Engram and Audrey Lunsford Grubbs. He was a graduate of Cuthbert High and a US Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a former Randolph County Deputy serving as a deputy under Sheriff Faircloth and as Chief Deputy under Sheriff Wilson. He was also a former police officer with the Cuthbert City Police. He was a retired long distance truck driver for Spaceway Trucking.

Survivors include his wife Hilda Isabel Grubbs of Leesburg, 2 daughters, Isabel Kristina (Chris) Nave of LaGrange, GA and Kelley Nichole (Reed) Thornhill of Albany, a son Michael Scott (Benjamin) Grubbs of Marietta, GA, a sister, Judy G. Marshall of Leesburg, a brother, Charles (Cathy) Grubbs of Sautee Nacoochee, GA and 6 grandchildren, Eli, Tatum, Mattox, Anslee, Adalynn and Emerson.

The family will receive friends from Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
