William B. Moody CHESAPEAKE - William Brewer Moody, 88, of the 5000 block of Ellen Lane, passed away Friday, Oct. 14. He was born July 1, 1923 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Mae Moody; two sisters; a brother, and a granddaughter. William retired as an engineer from the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 32 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Alice E. Moody; two daughters, Jane Moody Dingus and husband James and Theresa Moody Vick and husband Richard; a son, William R. Moody; a brother, Robert J. Moody; seven grandsons, Douglas, Benjamin and Adam Vick, Jamey and Jared Dingus, and Michael and Ashley Moody; three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth, Suzanna, and Katelyn; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in Westhaven Baptist Church, 4900 Caroline Ave., Portsmouth, 23707. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Union Mission Ministries or to a charity of one's choice.
