James Allen Cozad Age 85 of Council Bluffs passed away March 17, 2023. He was born January 12, 1938 in Dickieville, Iowa to Russell and Abbie (Nelsen) Cozad.

James graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1957. He married Sharon Kay Williams on October 17, 1958 in Council Bluffs. James started his railroad career with the Union Pacific Railroad and then transitioned to Burlington Northern Railroad spending most of his time in accounting retiring in 2000. James was a caretaker of people, loved spending time outdoors especially feeding the wildlife, working on cars and having the ability to do just about anything he set his mind to.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; brothers, Russell, Jr., Gerald and Harold.

James will be dearly missed by his daughters, Cathy Cozad, Cindy Crow (Sam), Christy Perry and Corrine Cozad; 9-grandchildren; 12- great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, March 23rd at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.

Graveside Service: 11:00 AM Friday, March 24th at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
