Former Anchorage resident Laverne Adam, 68, of Sequim, Wash., died Dec. 15 in Port Angeles, Wash. Services were held at Faith Lutheran Church in Sequim. The Rev. Michael Kasting officiated. Burial followed in Sequim View Cemetery.
Mr. Adam was born July 11, 1925, in Harrington, Kan., to Bernie and Goldie Murray Adam. He was raised in Kansas and moved to Washington state in 1947. He married Claudean Warren on Oct. 23, 1948, in Grandview, Wash. In 1964, they moved to Alaska, where Mr. Adam worked for the Anchorage School District until retiring in 1980. He and his wife then settled in Sequim. Mr. Adam was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. His wife, Claudean, died in 1982.
Mr. Adam is survived by his sons, Ronald and Montie of Anchorage; daughter, Debra McAllister of Orondo, Wash.; sisters, Nettie O'Brien of West Covina, Calif., and Laura McManus of Grandview; and five grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Sequim Valley Chapel.
