Horace "Mike" Michael Farthing of Fort Smith died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Fort Smith. He was born Dec. 13, 1949, in Evansville, Ind. He was retired from Peabody Coal Co., worked at Island Creek, drove a truck for J.B. Hunt and Mr. P in Kentucky, and was a member of Sons of the American Legion Squad No. 148.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Hazel Bend Cemetery in Sturgis, Ky. Obituary submitted by Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
