OBITUARY TAKEN FROM FAMILY BIBLE:
Howard Newton Corbin, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Corbin, 1124 North Walnut, passed away at home Saturday afternoon at 5:30. The young man had been in ill health for several years, and a part of his treatment was the taking of hot baths. Saturday afternoon he seemed to be remaining in the bath longer than usual, and members of the family investigating, found him lying in the tub, and it is thought he was then dead. Death was probably caused either by the shock of contact with the water inducing heart failure, or a blood clot.

Howard was born in Newton, Jan. 30, 1911, and hence was 22 years and 11 months old. He was never robust in health, and was unable to finish his senior year in high school, altho a good student.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist church by Rev. Samuel W. Keller, pastor, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, and interment will be made in Greenwood cemetery, in charge of Duff & Son. He leaves his parents and a sister, Martha Jane. The father has been a railway express messenger here for many years.

Howard was the only brother of Martha Jane Corbin Prowell and was a descendant of Mayflower Passengers, John Howland, John Tilley, Elizabeth Tilley, and Joan Hurst Tilley. Howard was never married and had no descendants.

When I remember bygone days, I think how evening follows morn; So many I loved were not yet dead, So many I love were not yet born. Ogden Nash
