Charles was the son of William Bowling and Sarah Ann (Sutton) Bowling. He was married to Marie Wesire, sometime circa 1899. I've been unable to locate both of them of the 1900 Census, but their son, Ray Charlie Bowling, was born in March of 1900. Charles was a widower by the 1910 Census. Birth and death information for Charles' wife is so far unknown, other than that she was born in Germany (per her son's Census information). Charles was still listed as a widower on his Death Certificate, on which his son, Ray was the informant. Burial location is per the Death Certificate.

I'll also add, there is question as to which state Charles was born in. Some Census info says Iowa, and some says Illinois. His death certificate states Kansas, which seems unlikely, since there's no record of his parents living in Kansas. So I've left the place of birth as Iowa for now, until a source can be found to confirm it elsewhere.
