A 1960 graduate of Monroe High School, he married Jacqueline Gavelek on August 24, 1963, in Coconut Grove, FL.
He was employed with Daimler Chrysler, Toledo Machining as an electrician for 12 years, retiring January 31, 2004. Prior he was employed with the Dana Corporation, Spicer Division for 31 years, retiring in 1992. Bob was a member of the U.A.W., Local 12 in Toledo and the U.A.W., Local 1435 in Perrysburg. He was a Whiteford Workers 4-H leader in Monroe County for 23 years. Bob built several homes and most recently helped build the 4-H Bell Tower at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.
Surviving are his loving wife, Jackie; children, Robert Manwell, Jr. of Newport Beach, CA, James (Dawn) Manwell of Charlotte, NC, Elizabeth (Brian Sweet) Manwell of Ottawa Lake, MI, Staff Sgt. Michael Manwell of Germany and Christopher Manwell of Ottawa Lake, MI; brother, Thomas (Lynn) Manwell of Dearborn, MI; sisters, Catherine Hilkens of Erie, MI, Carol (Jim) Nagel of Erie, MI and Sue (Dale) Courtney of Las Vegas, NV and 7 grandchildren.
