She was born in Oil City on October 21, 1946 daughter of Thomas Carnes and Ellen Wilson
She was married by Rev. Margaret Dunlap at the Pleasantview Church to Floyd C. Matthews on January 11, 1964 celebrating over 52 years of marriage
She attended The Kennerdell Church of God. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star of Parker, Pa She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was very proud of all her family and always loved to talk about her grandchildren and great grandson.
She loved camping, boating, fishing and traveling with her family "especially her dog Buddy". She enjoyed dirt track racing especially cheering on her sons at various tracks in the local area. Also she truly loved attending her grandchildren's various events.
She worked beside her husband her entire life as the Bookkeeper for F.C. Matthews Trucking she also worked at Trinity Living Center in Grove City.
She is survived by (in addition to her husband)
4 sons:Timothy Matthews and wife Barb of Kennerdell,Terry Matthews and wife Kim of Kennerdell, Curt Matthews and wife Amy of Greenville and
Chris Matthews and wife Martha of Kennerdell
9 Grandchildren Kayla Sines of Mercer,Patrick Matthews of Harrisville, Michael Lewis of St Louis Missouri, Adam Matthews of Greenville, Austin Matthews of Greenville, Cole Matthews of Greenville, Dalton Matthews of Kennerdell, Madison Matthews of Kennerdell, Camren Smith of Kennerdell
1 Great Grandson Carter Timothy Sines and a great grandchild due this month
She is also survived by a brother Thomas Carnes and wife Patti of Houston Pa

She is proceeded in death In addition to her parents and a sister Mary Obley
Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Sunday, April 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, the 4th at 11:00 am with Rev. Bobbie Nelson officiating from Kennerdell Church of God. Interment will take place at Pleasantview Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be sent to a charities of one's choice or American Cancer Society, 2115 West 38th Street, Erie PA 16508.
