George C. "Timber" Forbes, 60, 2712 Harleton Road, died at 1:35 p.m., Dec. 29, at Marshall Memorial Hospital after and extended illness.
Funeral services under the direction of The Sullivan Family of Funeral Directors will be held at 3:30 p.m. today at Pope City Baptist Church, Woodlawn. Dr. Joe F. Frederick and Rev. David Whitmire will officiate. Burial in Pope City Cemetery.
Mr. Forbes was born Feb. 2, 1929 in the Blackjack Community, Harrison County, to George Forbes, Sr., and Winnie Stevenson Forbes.
He attended Blackjack Schools.
Dorothy Waugh Forbes, his wife since 1955, preceded him in death Oct. 27, 1979.
He was a sewing machine mechanic for Ditto Apparel of California, Bastrop, Louisiana.
Mr. Forbes served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
