Phyllis J. Aaron, of Woodstock, passed away on May 20, 2023. She was born in Hartford, CT on July 18, 1935 to Alice and Floyd Fogil and grew up in Gilead, CT. She attended Eastern Connecticut State University to become a teacher. She taught first in Colchester, CT and later in Grayslake and Mundelein, IL. She married Truman "Woody" Aaron on June 30, 1956 and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage until his passing in 2017.
Phyllis and Woody loved to travel with friends and family, and square dance. In retirement, Phyllis loved to play bingo and played often near her home in Woodstock. She loved children and animals and supported local animal charities. Phyllis is survived by her children, Kevin (Tracey) Aaron, Kimberly Aaron and Kendall Soderholm; grandchildren, Savannah Soderholm, Austin (Amy) Soderholm and Andrew (Emily) Marotta; and great-grandson, August.
A visitation for Phyllis will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM and concluding with a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM, entombment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Phyllis's name to Helping Paws or Young at Heart Animal shelters in Woodstock.
