Ada Jean Shrock, 87, died in Greer House following an extended illness.

Parents: Charles H. and Emma Mae Cochran Butler.

Husband: Robert A. Shrock. They were married Nov. 22, 1946, in the Purdue University Cathedral. He died Jan. 12, 2003. They had been married 56 years.

She was a member of Wampum Presbyterian Church, where she belonged to the King's Daughters Sunday School Class, the Presbyterian Women's Association, the Martha Circle, and assisted in founding the Forever Young Ones. She was also active with the Bible school program and youth group. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member and past president of the Wampum Women's Club since 1946, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of the Wampum Historical Society. She graduated from Wampum High School in 1938. She was an avid and accomplished bridge player.

Relatives: a son, Robert C. Shrock of Wampum; a grandson, Robert C. "Robby" Shrock Jr. of Wampum; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward H. Butler.
