Gerald C. Riley, 78, of Graniteville, SC passed away peacefully on May 20, 2023. He was born in Lexington County SC on February 17, 1945, and was the son of George Ira Riley and Gertrude Shealy Riley. He was a graduate of Leavelle McCampbell High School and served in the National Guard. Gerald retired from BellSouth in 2007 after a 40-year career. He was a true Southern Gentleman who loved bowling, dancing, gardening, and country music. In his later years, he developed a love of traveling. Gerald was the oldest of four children. He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Margaret Elaine Jones Riley in 2017 He is survived by his son, Brad Gerald Riley (Tracy) and granddaughter Skylar Bradleigh Riley as well as his sisters Georgie Lewis (James), Geneva Greene (Doug), and his brother Gene Riley along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his son and granddaughter, Gerald leaves behind his longtime friend and traveling companion Ida Bridges. Ida and Gerald traveled extensively in the last few years and attended many concerts. A family burial service at a later date. Shellhouse Funeral Home.
