Sallie was the third child of Francis Marion Baldwin and Elizabeth Spearman. She married Lafayette Evans on September 13, 1888. They had two known children before Lafayette's death in 1907. They were Roy and Lillie. They had a few other children that were stillborn. Sarah died two years later. The children were raised by their grandmother, Mary (Farrell) Evans. Lafayette and Sarah are buried in Jones-Bailey Cemetery in unmarked graves.
