Mary Ann Everhard was born in 1811 in Maryland, probably in Frederick County. She was a daughter of Lucy (née Wedden) and War of 1812 veteran William Everhard, who were married on 5 December 1805 in Frederick County, and a granddaughter of Revolutionary War veteran Laurence Everhart (né Johannes Lorentz Eberhard).*

Mary Ann Everhart and Joseph Rhoderick were married on 26 July 1833 in Frederick County. The couple are known to have been the parents of two daughters: Sarah Ann (lived to maturity) and Manzella F. (died in early childhood). Mary Ann died in 1865 at the age of 53.
