Lowell Raymond Allen born March 23, 1933 in Menan, Idaho. He was born to Willard Lowe Allen and Almira Raymond. He was born at home because there was too much snow to get to a hospital. He was the second child after his brother W.Raymond Allen. Later two sisters were born Ann and Almira.

He was raised in Pocatello, and often spoke fondly of his mother, father and siblings. He graduated from Pocatello high school and soon after joined the Navy during the Korean war conflict.

After serving four years in the Navy, he returned home with a desire to serve an LDS mission. He served in the southern states mission and served most of his time as an assistant to the president.

When he returned home he continued to serve. He talked of the priest quorum he was assigned as their advisor. Each of those boys ended up serving missions. He soon met Janine Rae Haislip and they were married in the Idaho Falls temple August 15, 1958. They had five children, Cheri, Paul (died at birth), Dean, David, and Denise. Together with Janine they focused on their family and served in the church diligently.

He worked in different capacities as a businessman in in Pocatello and ended where he started, at Gem State Mutual. Lowell eventually served as the president of Gem State Mutual.

Most significant to him was building the kingdom of God. Lowell was called to serve as a Bishop, a Stake president, and later as a Stake Patriarch. His focus was on his family. Although he was busy in the church he found time to do some fun vacations and outings with his family.

In later years, his wife Janine became very ill with multiple sclerosis, where he served and cared for her until her passing in 2016. He was a man of integrity and love of his family. He'll always be remembered as one who loved and respected the Lord and his work.

Lowell passed away, at age 90, peacefully at home with his children on May 17 2023.
