Howard, age 92, passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka. He was the son of Francis P. and Verna M. (Stone) Deiter. He graduated from Maple Hill (KS) High School in 1949. He married Grace Louise Cowan on October 9, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Delia, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, his children, Julie Ross, Shelley Kruger, and Greg Deiter, his sister, Maxine Bronaugh, 14 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, his sons, Steven Patrick Deiter and Timothy Michael Deiter, his grandson, Dale Kruger, and his siblings, Glen Deiter, Robert Deiter, Melvin Deiter, Harold Deiter, William Deiter, Dorothy Watt, and Shirley Meier. Mass of Christian Burial will be held May 20, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
