Melvin Clifton Jackson, 76, of Raleigh, died Monday October 28, 2013 at Universal Health Care. He was born in Wake County, the son of the late Ara Tharrington Jackson and Melvin Graham Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Leonard Jackson.

Cliff was a generous and selfless man, sensitive to the needs of the less fortunate and dearly loved his country. He was a former member of the North Carolina National Guard and a member of the Falls Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon October 31, 2013 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Terry Ashe and Mr. Louis Jackson officiating. Burial followed in Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Ann Jackson of Pooler, GA; a son, Craig Philip Jackson of Wake Forest; a sister, Margaret Ann Jackson Pleasants and husband, Bob, of Goldsboro and by a brother, Louis Jackson and wife, Shirley, of Wake Forest.
