Katie Rae Dalton, 47, of Des Moines, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

Born on October 19, 1975, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Clyde and Kathy (Evans) Allred, she attended Southeast Polk Community Schools and graduated in 1994.

After graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army for 8 years, then served full time in the Iowa National Guard for 2 years.

She received a bachelor's degree from A.I.B and was employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Kate was a proud Eastsider, Veteran, and a member of the Peoria Tribe of Indians of Oklahoma. She had a competitive spirit and a great sense of humor.

Katie was joined in marriage to Rodney Dalton, and they were blessed with a son and a daughter. Her family brought her life's greatest joy.

Kate is celebrating a heavenly reunion with her grandparents, Clyde and Shirley Allred and Paul and Joan Evans, along with Uncle Mike and cousins Lesa and Sarah.

Please join the family in honoring Katie's life. A visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2023, from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Iles Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317. A funeral service will be held at Iles Grandview Park Chapel on Saturday May 20, 2023, at 1:00 PM with a burial following at Avon Cemetery. The family will be having a luncheon at Heritage Assembly of God, 5051 NE 5th St, Des Moines, IA 50313, after the burial.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to the family for Rodney & Katie's children c/o Iles Grandview Park Chapel. Checks may be made out to Rodney Dalton or "The Family of Katie Dalton."
