Mrs. Anna Ahart, a resident of Princeville for more than 40 years, passed away at her home Sunday morning, Feb. 15, at the age of 82. She had been in failing health for the past several months, caused by the infirmities of age.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Tretheway funeral home, conducted by Rev. A. H. Nothdruft of the Methodist church. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery.
Anna V. Oxford was born in Cainesville, Mo., July 20, 1859, the youngest child of Russell and Leanna Wilson Oxford.
She was married Sept. 26, 1880, to Milton P. Ahart at Gallatin, Mo. To this union seven children were born. A son, Homer, died in infancy and a daughter, Allene, died at the age of 10. Four daughter and one son survive. They are: Essie, Mrs. Gail Cutler of Princeville; Jessie, Mrs. Vaughn Bouton of Princeville; Minnie, Mrs. O. M. Goodale of Kewanee; Bessie, Mrs. Fred Koch of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Milton of Baldwin Park.
She also leaves 13 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. E. M. Johnson of Emporia, Kans., and numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband passed away 11 years ago, a few months after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Ahart's early life was spent in Missouri. The family moved to Princeville in 1900.
