Kate was the daughter of Sarah and Joesph Riste who lived in Blue Springs, Nebraska for 20 years. Kate was a school
teacher and active in the Presbyterian Church. She suffered from tumerous complications and died during surgery in Topeka,Ks on Sunday, Jan 7, 1894.Kate was then taken by train to Blue Springs.NE. She was interned at the
Methodist Church with Rev. D.W. Montgomry preaching the
funeral sermon. Kate was then laid to rest in the Blue Springs Cemetary.
