Tifton: September 3, 1949 George Leon Harper, 49, of Route 2 , Tifton, died Wednesday morning August 31 in the University Hospital in Augusta following several weeks of illness with blood poisoning.
Funeral Services were held this afternoon in the Salem Holiness Baptist Church in Douglas. Burial was in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.
Survivors in addition to his wife are 8 children: Melvin, Henry, Sidney, Charles, Paul, Jimmy, and Pauline Harper and Mrs. Loraine Pritchett all of Tifton. 5 brothers and I sister: Ashley Harper of Tifton, Melvin, Jesse, Arthur and Ralph Harper and Mrs. Lucille Joiner, all of Douglas.
