Mrs. Emily Joy Price Arrowood, age 74, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, May 11, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Saturday, September 18, 1948 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late Clifford and Audrey Salyers Price.
Joy was a faithful Christian, who loved attending church over everything. Aside from spending time with Phil and their family, she spent her days in her flowers or out "antiquing". She was a proud owner of "A Place in Time" for more than 20 years. She loved traveling to the beach and Tennessee with Phil and her family, singing gospel songs, camping with family and friends and attending auctions to grow her collections. She loved life, and will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Ronald Phillip Arrowood; two brothers and sister in laws, Ora (Helen) Albert Price, Oather Gayle (Lois) Price; three sisters and brother in laws, Mary Madge (Robbie) Waddell, Mayme (Hob) Stanley and Thelma Cole.
Joy is survived by one son, Lloyd (Lea) Arrowood of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters, Dawn (Jacob) Edison and Mary (Tommy) Carper all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; four grandchildren, MaKaylen (Dylan) Genung, Tanton (Jaeclinn) Kiser, Milea and Canaan Arrowood; three great grandchildren, Nia, Teagan and Theo all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; three life long friends, Bernie Griffey, Judy Porter and Carolyn Brown, along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Sunday, May 14, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Brother Steve Madden and Brother Clifford "Tippy" Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery on Dry Branch Road in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky and after 9 a.m., Sunday, May 14, 2022 until the service hour at the funeral home.
Donnie Waddell, Darrell Price, David Price, Phillip Waddell, Danny Waddell, Phillip Black and Wes Rayburn will serve as pallbearers.
Paris Porter and William Waddell will serve as honorary pallbearers.
