Allen J. Brown, 88, of Lumberton, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at his residence, surrounded by family.
Mr. Brown was born May 2, 1929 in Lumberton to Will Brown and Bessie French Brown. He was a retired carpenter and of the Baptist faith. He married the former Laura Faye Simmons on November 12, 1948.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy Brown, Elbert Brown, Clarence Brown, Johnny Brown; three sisters, Elsie Reid, Lucinda Brown, and Neva Landrum.
Family members include his wife of 69 years, Laura Faye Brown; two sons, Allen Ray Brown, Joseph Brown; two daughters, Barbara (Kent) Fairchild, Kathryn (Johnny) Elliott; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 102 North 1st Street, Lumberton, MS, 39455 on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Rev. Jesse Ladner will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 10:00 am until the time of services, Saturday at the funeral home.
