• GAINESVILLE, Texas -- Graveside services for Mary Davis Clark Roan, 96, Ponca City, formerly of Ardmore, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville, Texas, with the Rev. Denise Balmer officiating.

Mrs. Roan was born July 21, 1905, in Nida, Indian Territory, to the late Egell and Icy Horne Davis. She died March 4, 2002, at a Ponca City health care facility.

She married Milton W. Clark on Sept. 18, 1926, in Sulphur. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1937. She later married James C. "Boot" Roan on March 18, 1951. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1983. She was also preceded by an infant daughter, Nancy Helen Clark, in 1938; a brother, John P. Davis; two sisters, JoAnn Croskell and Jane Wheeler; and a daughter, Ann Allen.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ardmore where she served as deacon and was very active in the Straehley Sunday school class and Presbyterian Women. She grew up in Tishomingo where she attended Wolf Spring Grade School, Tishomingo High School and graduated from Murray State College. She lived in Ardmore before moving to Ponca City about a year ago.

Survivors include a son, Sgt. Maj. Robert D. Clark and his wife, Aurora, of Weslaco, Texas; a daughter, Millicent "Mickey" Hawkins and her husband, Robert, of Missoula, Mont.; a son-in-law, Joe B. Allen of Pawhuska; 18 grandchildren; and a many other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Family Shelter of Southern Oklahoma, Dwight Missions Presbyterian Church and Goodland Presbyterian Children's Home.
