A sad affair occurred at the Ernest Kummer home in Albany Tuesday night. Mr. Kummer retired about nine o'clock, Mrs. Kummer remaining up to do some late baking.
At midnight Mr. Kummer awoke and noticed that his wIfe had not retired. He went in search of her and found her lifeless remains on a porch adjoining the house.
Funeral services were held today. We hope to publish a more detailed account of this sad affair and a fitting tribute to the memory of this excellent lady in our next issue. - Mondovi Herald, March 29, 1907.

Mrs. Isabelle Kummer died very suddenly at her home in the Town of Albany last week Tuesday night. Her lifeless remains were found on the porch adjoining the house about 10:30 by her husband, who, observing that she had not yet retired, went in search of her. The cause of her death is not known.
The deceased was a daughter of Henry and the late Mrs. Dreyssee, of Albany, and was born September 15, 1867, making her 39 years old at the time of her death. At the age of 20, she was married to Ernest Kummer and to them, eight children were born, one dying in infancy. The remaining children are: Mrs. Geo. Struck, of Mondovi town; Paula, Hattie, Curtis, Wilbur, Laura and Hilda who live at home. Mrs. Kummer was distinctly a home woman everybody's friend and everybody was her friend. She was a good, hard working woman and loving wife and mother to her family to whom she was kind hearted. Funeral services were held at the home of her father, Henry Dreyssee, last Friday afternoon and were attended by many sympathizing friends and neighbors. Rev. Kershaw of this city, officiated.
