Funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Jack Schmitz & Son Funeral Home in Denton.
Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. George was born in Denton County and was a member of Liberty Methodist Church.He was an Army veteran and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors: Wife, Alma Marie Putnam George of Pilot Point; daughter, Barbara Hicks of Pilot Point; son, Gene George of Austin; stepdaughter, Harriett Speer of Glenpool, Okla.; two stepsons, Bill Putnam of Bixby, Okla., and Lee Putnam of Kiefer, Okla.; brother, Lewis George of Aubrey; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
