James "Jim" Albert Bailey is my grandfather.

James has a son and a daughter (who has 3 children and several grandchildren). He was married to Lois Cook. His parents were Lula "Lou" Mae Eads and Harrison Bailey of Harlan Co. Kentucky. Harrison's father was Elihu and mother was Katherine Burkhart. Lula's parents were John W. Eads and Katherine or Cathern Hill.

James was loved by all he knew and worked with in Speedwell, TN. When he found out a family was in need, he would shake someone's hand, and they would pull their hand back with money in it. I watched him do this a time or 2 and thought it was kind.

He would never let anyone go without even if it meant that he would go without. He seemed to know everyone and could tell me how someone we just talked to was a 10th cousin to him. Lots of people called him "Cozz" for cousin.

He grew up in Harlan then the family moved to MI then he moved to Speedwell, TN where he worked at his cousin's starter shop and drove a local school bus for Powell Valley.

He was an avid church goer, and would read his Bible and pray with anyone who needed it. He was also a war vet, but would not talk about it much.

He loved watching westerns, fishing, BLT's, driving (to perfection) and dancing (styles from when he was a teen, which he was very good at).

He has a brother, Franklin "Frank" D. Bailey, who rests at Resthaven as well as a sister Joyce Rowlands. Both of his parents are there also.
