ORRIS - Glen D., 93, Johnstown, passed away on May 4, 2023 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born March 10, 1930, in Johnstown, son of Fred and Ruth V. (Parks) Orris. Preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters, James F. Orris, Ida Mae "Dolly" Saylor, Paul Orris, Fred "Bud" Orris, Janet Statler. Survived by wife of 68 years, Marilyn E. (Goebert), daughters, Marcia Stumpo, wife of Frank, Hatfield, PA; and Christine, wife of Robert Miller, Thurmont, MD; grandchildren, Nicholas (Brittany) Stumpo, Katlyn (Tim) Maloney, Carlene Stumpo, Emmalee Miller and Joshua Miller; great-grandchildren, Nora, Matteo and Nico Maloney. Brother of Joan Conner, Michigan. Also survived by brother-in-law, Robert Statler, Johnstown. Glen was a US Army veteran who served in Korea. He was a retired supervisor in the information systems department at Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was the treasurer at the Franklin Street U.M. Church for 10 years. Member of Greater Johnstown Lodge #538 F. and A.M. (50 year member), Jaffa Shrine of Altoona and Johnstown Area Shrine Club. Lifelong member of Homestead Avenue U.M. Church, where he was the church treasurer for 43 years. Member of Johnstown District U.M. men and active with God's Kitchen. Member of North Fork Golf & Tennis Club, 50 year member of Pacesetters Golf Club, the GTE Retirees Golf League and the Bethlehem Steel Bowling League for 50 years. Unofficial Mayor of Arbutus Park Manor for the past 3 years. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of Funeral Service at 2 p.m., Sunday May 7, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Pastor Carol Hickman officiating. Entombment at Richland Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown or Homestead Avenue U.M. Church, 101 Homestead Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902 in memory of Glen D. Orris. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
