Larry was born April 7th, 1947 in Columbus, Mississippi. He attended Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama and enlisted in the US Army after graduating.
Larry worked numerous years in the insurance industry and retired from Allcomm Wireless. He was an avid hunter at the Blue Gurth Hunting Club. His hobbies included reading, watching the Atlanta Braves and Alabama Football. He was a member of Grace Life Baptist Church in McCalla, Alabama. Larry will be especially remembered for the love he shared for his family and friends. He loved spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and became known to everyone as Pops.
He was preceded in death by his parents Berlie and Fay Aldridge, brother Berlie Gene, and granddaughter Kaylie Odom.
He is survived by his wife Myra (Billie) of 49 years, daughters Lisa Jones (Billy), Kim Aldridge, grandchildren Cory Jones (Erin), Courtney Wise (Hunter), Abbie Canada, great grandsons Riley, Baker, Brewer, brother Terry (Marilyn), sister Linda Duke (David), several nieces and nephews, and best friend Gordon Bradley.
A visitation for Larry will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, 4780 Letson Farms Parkway McCalla, Alabama 35111, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with a burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Compassus Hospice, Birmingham, Alabama and Grace Life Baptist Church, McCalla, Alabama.
