Gladwin (Gladwyn)(haven't found any info under Gladwyn yet though).

A Silk Dyer in England & Paterson, N.J.

husband of Ann Anyon b Apr 1838 in Salford, Lancashire, England(who died in England in 1863) & Sarah Davenport whom he married 5/28/1871 in Parish Church of St. John's , Manchester, England.

Henry is son of William Gladwin (Gladwyn) and Hannah Birchenough. William is born Dec. 13, 1798 in Norton, Folgate, London, England dying March 19 1850 at a Railroad Station in Macclesfield, England. (I obtained a wedding and death certificate).
Hannah's info is on her page.

Due to the marriage license for William and Hannah.
William is a widower and Hannah is a spinster. but.
Henry is born before they are married. so.... ???
evidence discovered by Geoff, who did some research for me (he lives in England), feels that evidence indicates that Hannah is his real mother and he is born out of wedlock. and William adopted him.
Letter's from my now deceased Aunt Dorothy indicated that Henry used the name Birchenough, and that a man took him in and adopted him. (of course, at the time I started this, it didn't make sense, but as info comes in, it is matching things). My Aunt also mentions cousins but spelled the name wrong, but says that my Aunt's sister Helen is named after one of the children.

Geoff found proof of the real last name:
Henry's Sister is Mary Ann Gladwin who married Charles Edmeston and they had 8 children, one of whom is Helen.
the 8 children are: Helen, Esther, Ada, Archibalk, Charles and Ruth. (I have dates of birth).

Geoff also found William's Baptism records.

Geoff also found the marriage licence for Henry Birchenough which says his father is unknown, and he is listed as a Widower, Dyer. He is marrying Sarah Davenport (spinster) and it lists her parents John and Mother's maiden name Sawyer(if it is read right). They married on May 28, 1871 in the presence of John and Elizabeth Ellen Kitchen.

He also had a son William Gladwin born 12/1859 in England.
He died after 1930 in Brooklyn, NY
His wife is Sarah Gee and they had 7 children.
