Joyce Lewis Massey age 90 of Wake Forest passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Hillside Nursing Center. Joyce was born in Wake County, NC on August 17, 1932 to William Sterling and Rosa Dell (Brinkley) Lewis.
She was a 1951 graduate of Needham B. Broughton High School and Hardbarger Business College in Raleigh. She was employed as a Bookkeeper and Tax Preparer for many years.
Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alexander "Dick" Massey.
Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Tippette and husband Burt of Wake Forest; son Frank Massey and wife Sandy of Winterville; grandchild Cat Gillis and husband Brett of Oak Point, Tx; one great-granddaughter Quinn Elizabeth; sister Catherine Lewis White and husband Neal of Ridgeway, Va.; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at Hillside Nursing Center for the care and attention given to Joyce for the last 5 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Glen Royal Baptist Church of Wake Forest or Meals-On-Wheels of Wake County.
