It is with profound sadness that the family of Jean Good Able announce her passing at the age of 91 on Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Waco, Texas.

Born Wanda Jean Hughes, on September 3, 1931 to Brady Melvin and Pauline Gay (Duke) Hughes, in Coleman, Texas. Jean lived in Coleman the first 18 years of her life, graduated from Coleman High School in 1949, and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas "Tommy" Good, on March 11, 1950.

Jean is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Hughes, father, Brady Hughes, brother Edward Melvin Hughes, husband Pastor Thomas Don Good, second husband Roy Hollingsworth, third husband James Elbert Able, Grandson Phillip Sacks, her son Thomas Melvin Good, and daughter Dr. Kathryn Marie Good.

Jean's memory lives on through her sister Gaylene Schaffer of Loudon, Tennessee, daughter Paula Allen of Waco, Texas, daughter in-law Angela Moore, bonus son George Hollingsworth, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, her loving nieces Dee Richardson, Brenda Jean Davis, Bradina Benson, Frances Hughes Elder, and their families, all of whom will all miss their "Memaw" very deeply.

Jean never met a stranger, and she ensured that anyone she spoke with got one of her many stories from a life well-lived. She had a smile and spunk that would light-up a room. She held her church family close to her heart at the Waco Seventh Day Adventist Church, and her relationship with her savior even closer. Her presence will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

There are no words that can express how grateful and blessed we were to have the caring, compassionate, and loving staff at Providence Village Hospice who made Memaw's final journey on this earth one of peace and comfort.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 W. Waco Drive. Visitation will be Friday, May 12, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. All are welcome to come join in the celebration of her life well lived.
