John W. Bechtel, 42, a carpenter by trade, died suddenly about 8.30 o'clock last night at his home on the Buckshutem Road, a few hours after he had returned home from work complaining of pains in his side.

The deceased had recently completed the Emerson Jones apartment on Fifth Street.

Surviving are his wife Grace Taylor Bechtel; one son Clinton; three brothers, Harry of Baltimore, Edward of New York, and Frank of Bridgeton, and three sisters, Mrs. Helen Kinsey, New York; Mrs. Sadie Hoffman, Millville, and Mrs. Bertha Foster, Bridgeton.

Funeral services will be held from the Memorial Funeral Home on Friday morning with interment in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
