She was on the Gymnastics team, and Chorus. She won awards for Shakespeare Readings at the college, and was in the Miss Stardust Beauty Contest. Mom was on the cover of several magazines. Famous photographer J. Weiss won several awards for the photos he took of her, and in 2015 her photo hung in his collection at the Monroe County Library. Mom graduated from the East Stroudsburg teachers College in 1970, Bachelor of Science in Education.
She married first to Robert T. Shields, and married secondly to Walter W. Pryse Jr. Mother of Robert T. and Michael H. Shields, Linda R., Kim M., and Daniel A. Pryse. Teacher, park ranger, historical guide. Member of the Monroe County Historical Assoc., and DAR. She enjoyed antiquing, and was always buying old papers to donate to historical Assoc. in several states. Genealogy was her passion. She traveled often, looking for that next generation back. Together we would help others with their family histories, her on her knees digging headstones out of the dirt.
