Frey, Mary
Mary Elizabeth Frey entered into the glory of her saviour, Jesus Christ on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Stratford General Hospital surrounded by her family at the age of 75 years. In March of 2023 Mary was diagnosed with ALS, and even in the midst of this storm she found her rest in Jesus. Mary was well loved by all who knew her, and she impacted many through her quiet faith in God.
Mary was born on July 8, 1947 in Musoma, Tanzania to Simeon and Edna Hurst who were serving as missionaries. Having spent her early years predominantly outside, she loved the beauty of God's creation. As such, flowers were always on display in the home and she loved being outside and cultivating her gardens. She also loved spending time at the beach.
Mary had a servant heart and spent many years helping those who couldn't help themselves through her work with the Red Cross. She loved her family and was a great role model, showing the beauty of a godly wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mary will always be loved and missed by Harvey, her husband of 54 years; their children Ian and Lisa, Randy and Nathalie; grandchildren Ellis, Declan, and Sydney. She is survived by her brother Elwood (Marjorie) Hurst and sister Ruth (David) Rice. Predeceased by her eldest sister Nancy Hurst.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 6 - 9 p.m. at Trinity Bible Chapel, 1373 Lobsinger Line, Waterloo. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Trinity Bible Chapel, with interment to follow at Hawkesville Cemetery.
