John L. Wolfgang, 77, 97 Sunset Drive, DuBois, died Saturday at his residence. Born June 9, 1927, he was a son of the late Merle and Lillian Anderson Wolfgang. He was married to Virginia M. Fyke Wolfgang August 6, 2946. She survives.

He was a retired Navy Veteran after 30 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, also serving in the Seabee's during WWII. He retired as a Flight Engineer/Parachute Rigger 1st Class on June 30, 1971.

He owned and operated John's Barber Shop in Munford, Tennessee, four years after his retirement and before returning to Pennyslvania.

He was an avid outdoorsman and birdwatcher. He was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge No. 226, Munford, Tennessee and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 813 in DuBois. He was Methodist by faith.

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Diane) Ross of Reading; twin sons, Dean C. Wolfgang of Hope Mills, N.C., and Dennis M. Wolfgang of Orlando, Fla; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene "Lula" Clark of Jamestown, N.Y.; and one brother, James F. Wolfgang of Warminster.

He was also preceded in death by a son, John L. Wolfgang Jr; an infant son; two brothers, Thomas and Merle; and two sisters, Ruth Minnick and Mable Allen.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel Inc. in DuBois. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jarred R. Peterman officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by the DuBois Area Honor Guard. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois.
