Funeral directed by Ott Funeral Home in Branchville , will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Greenpond Methodist Church , with Maionic rites, will be in the Hucks Cemetery
Mr. Ackerman was born in St. George , a son of Mrs. Pearl Johnston Ackerman and the late Arthur K. Ackerman. He was a member of the Smoaks Masonic Lodge and a retired lumberman and merchant.
Surviving are : his Mother , his widow , Marie Spell Ackerman of Walterboro ; one daughter. Mrs. Edith A. Taylor of Columbia ; one brother Arthur K. Ackerman of Orangeburg ; two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews .
