He was a prominent farmer and businessman in Pelican. He was a native of Alexandria and a graduate of Bolton High School. He attended NSC and served as a platoon sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart, the President's Unit Citation, and four battle stars (Tarawa, Saipan, Pinian, and Okinawa).
He is survived by his wife, Doris Rambin Priest; a daughter, Linda Priest; son, Roy Hebert Priest Jr; three brothers, Guy Lafayette Priest Jr, Ralph M Priest, and Carl Benjamin Priest; and three sisters, Mrs. James Frank Lewis, Mrs. Billie Dove, and Mrs. William F Roberts.
