Carrie Barnard Arnold, age 86, of Elizabeth City, NC died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at W.R Winslow Memorial Home. She was born December 17, 1928 in Elizabeth City to the late John Barnard and Lillie Barnard Cartwright and was the wife of the late Alton Arnold. Mrs. Arnold was a retired dental assistant and book keeper for Dr. Charles Mahaffey and a member of Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Arnold's passions were to play cards and travel.
Mrs. Arnold is survived by a son, Eddie Trueblood and wife Peggy of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Todd Trueblood and Tanya Jones; and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice Tarkington and two brothers, John and Raymond Barnard
A private memorial will take place at a later date. Visitation will take place Monday night at Twiford Memorial Chapel from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Albemarle Hospice, P.O. Box 189, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. The Arnold family is served by Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC.
