CSA; enlisted 1 May 1862 in Co G, 4th Reg GA Cav at Tebeauville (Waycross), GA.. Allen Strickland held the rank of Captain. His enlistment was short due to a disability called "white swelling"; he was discharged at Camp Wayne, Savannah, GA, 1 July 1862. After the war they moved to Polk Co., FL (Tax list 1866-67). They then moved to near Cedar Tree, Hernando Co.; not long after the 1870 Census they moved to Sandy, near Pine Level, Manatee Co.
