SHREVEPORT, LA - McGINTY, CMSgt (Retired) Fred J., 87, of Shreveport, LA, passed away at Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home on Thursday, March 13, 2008. Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Moore's Southlawn Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Fred was preceded in death by his son, Fred Earl McGinty; father and mother, Fred E. and Pearl M. McGinty; sister, Geneva Morehead.
He retired from the United States Air Force after 27 years of service. He moved to Springdale, AR where he was self-employed raising beef cattle and also a member of the Washington County AR Sheriff Department posse. He loved hunting, taking care of his bird dogs and gardening.
Fred is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wilma L. Dalton McGinty; son, Dr. Dale P. McGinty and wife, Martha of Shreveport, LA; granddaughters, Paige McGinty of Los Angeles, CA, and Susan and husband, Jon Hansen of Durham, NC; grandson, Brian McGinty of Charleston, SC; six great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyler, Kyle, and Evan Hansen and Colin and Isabelle McGinty; sister-in-law, Wanda M. Barnes of Tulsa, OK; several nephews and nieces; and special friends, Karl & Shirley Willis of Green Valley, AZ. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Roy Fleniken and the entire staff at Northwest Louisiana War Veterans Home for their compassionate and loving care.
