Mr. Jack Emmert, age 91, of Brooks, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. Mr. Emmert was born in Monroe County, KY on July 23, 1931 to the late Benton and Phoebe Emmert. He was the owner of Emmert Plumbing and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of South Jefferson Christian Church, Sunset Masonic Lodge F&AM, Shriner's International and Scottish Rite. He was an avid golfer and was a member of both Torro Golf Club and L&N Golf Club.

In addition to his parents, his siblings, Joe Emmert, Francis Emmert, Irvin Emmert, Ray Emmert, Eugene "Gene" Emmert, Opal Bartley, Geneva Dyer, Aletha Walden and Olivia Hall preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 65 years, Janelle Emmert; children, Cheryl Lively (Brian) and Todd Emmert (Theresa); grandchildren, Evan and Trent Lively; sister, Dean Gettings and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm EST on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of his service at noon at the funeral home.
