Mrs. Nelda Mae Williams, age 77 of Winnfield, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Born Tuesday, November 13, 1945 in Winnfield, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude Lois Jenkins Sweat and Clem Lea Sweat; and her son, Kevyn Aucoin.
Nelda was a very talented woman! She could make anything! She loved to sew and could make her own patterns. She made all her children and grandchildren picture quilts by hand. She was the most amazing cook and made it all from scratch. She had a secret ingredient she put in her hamburgers that made them mouthwatering! She was very artistic and loved to paint. She enjoyed growing a garden and grew the best peas and tomatoes around! She also grew beautiful flowers that bloomed in every color. She enjoyed dancing and bowling in her younger years and was even in a bowling league. She took pride in being a wonderful housewife and mother. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren fiercely! They meant everything to her and she would jump on you with both hands and feet if you tried to mess with them. We loved that about her! She was deeply loved and we knew we could count on her for anything. She will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John T. Williams; sons, Kevin Williams (Darlene) and Keith Williams (Kelli); brothers, Gene Sweat and Harvel Lee Sweat (Louise); grandchildren, Taylor Roach (Landon), Jada, Jake, Maci, and Matthew; great grandchild, Palmer Roach; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Southern Funeral Home, from 11:00 AM until time of services.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Southern Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow in Atlanta Cemetery, in Atlanta.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Joe Lang, Mark Sweat, Michael Sweat, Damon Cox, Lavon Hanson, Johnny Sweat, and Matthew Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Desadier and Rocky Desadier.
