Sally Ann Culligan-Vavrus, age 81 of Marengo, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 at her home. Sally was born on November 8, 1941 in Ashland, the daughter of Roland B. and Marion L. (Kennedy) Culligan, Sr.
Sally graduated Ashland High School in 1959. She worked for Miller Electronics as a welder for many years. She was a past member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.
She is survived by her children, Steven, Michael (Lori) and Joseph (Debra) Vavrus, Mary (Jeff) Millikin and Patricia Poremba; grandchildren, Shannon (Marius) Smith, Trevor (Emily) Millikin, Cody Marie (Donald) Kearns, Madeline Millikin, Savage Millikin, Natasha (Eric) Hagen, Claire Vavrus, Luke Vavrus, Andrea (Buck) Risher, Genevieve Vavrus, Sarah Vavrus, Lillian Poremba, Robert Poremba, Marion Poremba and John-Paul Poremba; great grandchildren, Nora, Naomi Kearns, Matthew, Emmitt, Evelyn Millikin, Owen Hagen, Josephine and Baby Risher, Atlas and Cora Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert (Bette) Culligan, Roland Culligan Jr., Daniel (Jean) Culligan, Mike (Kathy) Culligan; sisters, Kathryn Shroyer, Wilma Gustafson; grandson, Matthew Millikin.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Sally will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 26, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland, with Fr. Jerome D'Souza as Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10 a.m., and continue until the hour of service at the church.
Burial will follow the mass in Mount Hope Cemetery in Ashland.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI.
