PRINCETON — Lois Elaine Manning, 86, of the Princeton Health Care Center, Courthouse Road in Princeton died early Tuesday morning, February 26, 2008 at the Princeton Community Hospital.

Born January 21, 1922 in Bramwell she was the daughter of the late Edgar Ellis Lively and Lelia Wilson Lively.

Mrs. Manning was a graduate of Marlinton High School. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. Mrs. Manning had been a resident of the Princeton Towers for 26 years, prior to moving to the health care facility. She was of the Methodist Faith; she had recorded over 2400 hours volunteering at Princeton Community Hospital. Mrs. Manning had also worked with the PCH day care center and had served as a volunteer in the Foster Grandparents program for 18 years. While her health permitted, she loved to read, do paintings and arts and crafts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Keith Manning, also eight brothers and sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors include four children and spouses, Bill and Mary Manning of Martinsville, Va., Frances E. "Fran" and Jim Fry Jr. of Princeton, Winifred Edgar and Linda Manning of San Antonio, Texas, Dolin Ronald and Beth Manning of Mosley, Va.; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Manning will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Tom Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the service hour. Family and friends may share messages of love and condolence via www.memorialfd.com

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Kee Street United Methodist Church, 311 Kee Street, Princeton WV 24740.
