Robert L. Alsup, 71, Linn Creek, MO., formerly of Independence, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Lake of the Ozarks Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. Mr. Alsup was born June 12, 1928, in Springfield, MO., son of Clarence Locke Alfred Alsup and Noma Louise Dummit Alsup. He worked for Independence Power & Light for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and a member of Independence Masonic Lodge 76, and the Ararat Shrine. His wife Jewell D. Alsup preceded him in death in 1997. His survivors include a son, Edward Lewis Alsup, El Paso, TX;
one daughter, Susan Darlene Tidwell, Osage Beach, MO;
two sisters, Clarise Hart, Harrisonville, MO, and Louise Bates, Blue Springs;
two brothers, Paul Alsup, Independence, and Jerry Alsup, St. Louis, MO.;
six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the George C. Carson & Sons Independence Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel.
