Joseph Maham Fitzwater Jr. was born June 11, 1924, to Joseph and Clova Fitzwater. He passed away peacefully at his residence in Milford surrounded by loved ones at the age of 98 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Esther Fitzwater. Joe had two daughters, Jo Fitzwater and Karen (Peter) Stitsinger. He was a wonderful grandfather to Marc (Jenn) Oligee, Jennifer (Gary) Powers, Emily (Jason) Boots, and Jon (Gretchen) Oligee. Great grandfather to Grace (Micah) Barlow, Gabe, Ella, Carson, Zach, Ebby, Kate and Kendal. Great Great Grandfather to Baby Barlow. Joe was a prod Air Force Veteran and served in WWII and the Korean War. Joe had many hobbies that he loved including fishing and golfing, poker and playing bridge. He was the oldest acting member of the Milford First United Methodist Church where he attended every week. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Milford Community Fire Department. He also retired from Western-Southern and Indian Hill Schools. Joe will be missed more than he will ever know. There will be a visitation at Milford First United Methodist Church 541 Main Street Milford, Ohio 45150 Friday April 28, 2023, from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 11:00 AM. Inurnment to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery where Firefighter and Military honors will be performed.
